Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What services do you offer for solar farms and energy sites?

We specialize in vegetation management for solar farms, including commercial mowing, string trimming, brush clearing, and solar panel (PV module) washing. Our services are tailored to meet O&M standards, reduce fire hazards, and maintain site accessibility.

What areas do you serve?

We provide vegetation management and solar field maintenance services in Southwest, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. We’re expanding nationwide—contact us for availability in your region.

Why is vegetation management important for solar fields?

Overgrown grass and weeds can shade solar panels, reduce energy output, pose fire hazards, and hinder equipment access. Regular vegetation control helps maximize solar efficiency, reduce liabilities, and meet compliance standards.

Vegetation Management

What kind of equipment do you use for mowing solar fields?

We use specialized low-clearance equipment like Toro mowers that are ideal for navigating under and around solar panels without damaging infrastructure. Our equipment is designed to operate efficiently near I-beams and tight panel arrays.

How often should I schedule mowing for my solar site?

Frequency depends on region, growth rate, and local compliance requirements. Most sites benefit from 3 to 6 service visits per growing season. We can create a custom mowing schedule based on your vegetation and site layout.

Do you handle brush clearing or just mowing?

Yes, we offer full-site vegetation clearing, including brush cutting, weed trimming, and removal of invasive species. Our crews are trained to handle dense, uneven, and remote terrain.

Can you work around energized solar panels and sensitive equipment?

Absolutely. Our team follows strict safety protocols and is trained to work safely near energized PV systems, inverters, and transformers. We use low-impact techniques to avoid panel damage or system interference.

Module Washing

Do dirty solar panels affect performance?

Yes, dirt, dust, bird droppings, and pollen can reduce solar panel output by 10-30% or more. Routine panel washing helps maintain optimal system efficiency and prolongs panel life.

How often should solar panels be washed?

We recommend at least one to two cleanings per year, depending on your location and environment. Desert regions and agricultural areas may need more frequent cleanings due to dust and debris accumulation.

What method do you use for washing solar panels?

We use deionized water with soft-bristle brushes or pressure-regulated systems to gently remove dirt without scratching or leaving mineral residue. We follow OEM guidelines to ensure warranty compliance.

Scheduling & Pricing

How do I get a quote for your services?

You can request a free quote through our website or by calling us directly. We'll gather basic information about your site (acreage, location, terrain) and provide a custom estimate based on your needs.

What do your vegetation management services cost per acre?

Pricing depends on site size, terrain difficulty, and frequency of service. Our rates are competitive and designed for long-term contracts. Contact us for a customized quote.

Can I schedule recurring service?

Yes. We offer one-time, seasonal, and multi-year service agreements. Recurring contracts often receive discounted pricing and priority scheduling.

Do you offer emergency or short-notice services?

We do our best to accommodate urgent requests, especially in fire-prone areas or sites with compliance deadlines. Contact us to check availability.

Safety & Compliance

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed and insured for vegetation management and solar field operations. We meet all state and industry compliance standards.

Do you have experience with utility-scale solar projects?

Yes. We work with utility companies, EPC contractors, and O&M teams on projects ranging from 5MW to 300MW. Our crews are trained in utility-scale protocols and reporting.

Can you meet ISNetworld or other compliance program requirements?

Absolutely. We have safety programs, JHAs, and insurance documentation ready for ISNetworld, Avetta, and other third-party contractor compliance systems.

Payment & Contracts

What payment options do you accept?

We accept ACH, checks, and major credit cards. For larger projects, we also offer invoicing terms based on approved contracts.

Do you require a deposit?

Depending on project size, a deposit may be required to reserve service dates and mobilize equipment. Details will be outlined in your service agreement.

Can I cancel or reschedule a service?

Yes, with appropriate notice. Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule. Cancellations without notice may be subject to a fee.

About Our Team

Who will be working on my site?

Our field crews are trained professionals with experience in solar vegetation management, OSHA safety, and equipment operation. We also assign a site lead to oversee quality and communication.

Do your team members have safety training?

Yes. All crew members undergo safety training in hazard communication, equipment use, heat exposure, and electrical awareness. We perform daily safety check-ins and follow JHA protocols.

Can I request documentation for your work?

Of course. We provide service reports, before-and-after photos, and invoice summaries for every visit. Custom reporting options are available upon request.
